I have been waiting to do an infinite loop for the longest time, for some reason I find them super fun, and I am excited to mess around with the new medium tools. I quite enjoyed all the glitch hacker ways, but the one where you take the image code and mess with it seems to be the one I gravitate most towards, while the audio editor is much more foreign to me that is quite interesting to me. For my general theme I want to do something with hermits and/or a room rot idea that shows the environment of those impacted by depression or social anxiety to a grand degree. The depiction will start with a clean house or apartment building exterior that then goes into the person's room. From this point the audience will navigate through the microbiome that is the habitat leading to a deeper understanding of time and space for those impacted by this scenario. The theme is bed rot realness, and to accomplish this I think that glitching will help make some grotesque images more relatable by establishing the disconnect between hermit and society, similar to what was discussed in the “Glitch Manifesto” reading. I think the smallest part of the loop shows an atom sneezing and then blowing up to a distorted whitewashed glitch that will restart the looping cycle. I feel this will truly drive home the statement I wish to execute and give the audience a better understanding of this aspect of mental health. Although most people have not experienced bed rot to such a degree, but I do believe people will resonate with the idea of not wanting to get out of bed and how this can pile up and become a cycle (like skipping class).
