I am stuck between 3 ideas and wondering what would transfer best to the criteria of the zine assignment. The first is fixating on action shots in comics/manga where the action is just rudimentary, and not like a superpower or fast fighting tactics. My con to this is having the collage aspect, I think the main subject is one character while the environment is the collage and a multi-dimensional looking world. The second idea is a play on the social media food “porn” where enticing tastings are made from actually discussing things with gold flakes on top for the extra wow factor. This idea would translate best in a collage sense, but if wanting to make it a “cookbook” of sorts with recipes I am not sure how I would do so with a lack of words. The last idea is growing off a project I did last semester which talks about the inner “dwarfs” of our lives, based on the book “The Dwarf” by Par Langkwigvist is a psychological examination and a play on the “id” that resides in all of us. I was thinking of making characters for some celebrities and other notable people to show insight into their thoughts. This one could go either way with the collage, while I could make either the character or the environment a mix of reference images. I did a character-building collage in studio 1 where I made a baby out of Blucifer to generate a meme which was done in Photoshop and was pretty fun. All need more brainstorming, but I like them all in their own ways.
