Artist statement#4 FINAL

Through the webventure assignment, I have come to learn how to make hidden links and gifs which I truly enjoyed. I know there are many different ways of producing gifs, but I quite liked doing it in Photoshop and transferring skills utilized throughout the year into the final project. The theme of my project was “New York Sewers” which I quite liked the thought behind, but due to other events during the final weeks of classes, I did not put in as much effort as I would have liked. I thought my gifs were fun although a little repetitive they tried to tell a story, which I take pride in, and having made them using multiple techniques for what felt like forever I am proud of the work I did in that regard. I am going to revisit the piece before the final day of grading, but besides obvious things that I could see with my own eyes, no critiques were helpful at all. I thought the many avenues were unique to me although I don’t have a particular signature yet I feel I completed them to the best of my ability. I would like to try making a website again for my professional life, but I will be revisiting this “.com” for Digital Art 2 in the fall. I would like to just end by saying that the critiques for DA are much different than anything I am used to, and the feeling of silence is deafening, the only thing I can improve on is what I feel and what Corrina has told me to do. I hope to expand further on digital mediums and better define what it means to me as a digital artist.
